Governor Amaechi Condoles Uduaghan




"Top News In Nigeria" Ahead of funeral rites of Madam Rebecca Ayomike mother of the wife of the Delta State Governor, Mrs. Roli Uduaghan, which commences today (Thursda)with a service of songs, the Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, yesterday,(Wednesday) extolled the virtues of the Governor’s inlaw.
 Rt. Hon. Amaechi who led a delegation of Rivers State people on a condolence visit on Mrs. Uduaghan and her family, described Madam Rebecca Ayomike as a fulfilled   woman going by the successful disposition of her children.
 Governor Amaechi noted that apart from the fact that she had trained up her children to the level that they can fend for themselves, Madam Rebecca Ayomike, he learnt was a devoted Christian who ensured that she impacted on all who came across her, adding that the good legacy she left behind would continue to speak for her.
“I believe that Mama had provided all that you need and all the necessary advice that you need to succeed. It is important to note that Mama died at old age and secondly because you are all old enough to take care of yourselves. But one thing I know you will miss is the close relationship and that Mother’s food that you would always want to eat each time you come from Asaba. No matter how best your sister or any other person can cook one thing remains that there is nothing like one’s mother’s food which is different from any other food,” Governor Amaechi said.
 He prayed God to grant Madam Ayomike eternal rest just as he prayed for the blessings of God for the Children and the people of entire people of Rivers State commiserate with Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, the family of Ayomike and the entire people of Delta State.
 Responding, the eldest son of Madam Rebecca Ayomike, Mr. Emmanuel Tuoyor, expressed gratitude to Governor Amaechi for identifying with them in this period of mourning. He said they are consoled by the fact that their mother brought them up in a disciplined and well mannered way.
 “Mama led a fulfilled life in Christ Jesus. She was prayerful, dedicated to God and was able to unite the family. Mama was a bridge builder who ensured that we lived in peace with our neighbours and the community in general. We will miss her dearly.”
 Present during the condolence visit were the Executive Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, the First Lady, Mrs. Roli Uduaghan, the Chief of Staff, Government House, Asaba, Dr. Festus Okubor, Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Ben Igbakpa, Commissioner Oil and Gas, Hon. Mofe Pirah amongst others.
