attempt to reconvene the crisis-ridden Kogi State House of Assembly
tuesday failed as the group of 12 and 13 lawmakers, especially the
anti-Bello group were enmeshed in disarray with internal squabbles
continuing among them.
A
reliable source told this day that the 12-pro impeachment group had
split as various interests did not allow them agree on someone to
replace Bello, who had agreed to resign.
While
one group is routing for Babadoko, the other is maintaining that Hon.
Mommoh Jimoh Lawal, who had allegedly paraded himself as Speaker should
take up the seat.
The third group also wanted the lawmaker from Ogori Magongo as Speaker.
Meanwhile, in the 13-pro-Bello camp, there were resistance already as they are insisting that since they have the majority, their group should be allowed to produce the new Speaker.
