News on Top The Minister of Sports, Alhaji Bolaji Abdullahi has said
that Stephen Okechukwu Keshi remains the Head Coach of the Super Eagles
of Nigeria, contrary to reports that Keshi who is popularly called the
boss has resigned.
‘’We thank God almighty that we are part of this process. The issue of keshi resignation, you heard him yourself. And it was blown out of proportion, though there were issues but I think things were not properly managed as they should be managed
‘’But thank God I was on hand to discuss it. He never tendered resignation in the first place so the issue of resignation is not true. keshi remains the Head coach of super eagles,” he said.
Also commenting on his reported resignation, Keshi said, ‘’We thank God for the victory. The next thing is to be patience and I believe things will work out.
‘’Well, you know there were issues to make things better in the team and all around our football sector in the country. But yesterday I spent about 4 to 5 hours mid-night yesterday with the Minister of Sport, Alhaji Bolaji Abdullahi. We spoke about things and how we can move things forward,” he said.
On whether he had resigned, Keshi said, ‘’I am here now.”
There was serious bridge of security as the Minister of FCT, arrived at the airport. The crowed was so much that the security agencies that were present had difficulty in controlling the crowd of supporters of supper Eagles that came to welcome them.
The entrance door to the arrival terminal was destroyed by the uncontrollable crowd that were trying to enter the arrival terminal at the airport.
