News on top, Lagos – The Lagos State Police Command has dismissed a police sergeant
who was caught on video demanding N25 000 from a motorist, reports.
The
video depicted a motorist, who has not been identified, begging with
Chris Omeleze, the sergeant, to accept N2000 instead of the N25 000 that
Omeleze demanded.
The video went viral and was viewed by
Mohammed Abubakar, the Inspector General of Police, who has since
ordered for Omeleze’s arrest.
Ngozi Braide, the Police’s Public
Relations Officer, has commented that the police are very disappointed
at the sergeant’s behaviour and called on the public to always report
such crimes.
