News on Top "De Thrills and Intrigues of Oge Okoye’s Phot"

This is characteristic of what many movie buffs in this part of the world are wont to do; and in the order clime, they may not be surprised as they are used to this latest phenomenon in cinematography. How do we mean? If you have watched Julia Roberts in ‘Pretty Woman’ you would definitely appreciate this piece of art the Nollywood actress, Oge Okoye has tried to put together here.

From the fore going, it’s only evident that most lovers of the tube when it comes to movies are not exempted from due and undue criticisms of some flicks, especially when they are getting to witness such projection in movie making. Oge Okoye’s latest display in what she is known best to do elicited diverse opinions from her known and unknown fans.

Quite a large number of Oge’s admirers have randomly frowned at her recent photo speak filmed shoot on ‘TIME,’ culled from her name, Ogechi, meaning ‘time waits for no one,’ shot by Moussa Moussa and directed by Egor Efiok. News on Top EXCLUSIVE GOVERNOR SULLIVAN CHIME "THE SILENT REVOLUTIONARY".

SULLIVAN CHIME
News on Top Fellow citizens of our beloved Enugu State, and our dear country Nigeria, this short treatise is directed at you, to add to your knowledge, as well as enrich your experience, Silence, as we all know, is the absence of noise, and silence is said to be golden.

The allusion made in the above aphorism, equating silence with gold, a very valuable mineral, shows the very high value placed on one who is able to do great things in a very quiet and low-key manner.

Now, who is a revolutionary, and why is Governor Chime, the amiable and dynamic peoples’ Governor of Enugu State, being ranked as one? Well, a revolutionary is one who starts or supports a revolution that is a drastic change, in the way things are done.

Anyone who had been to Enugu State before 2007, when Governor Chime assumed office, and re-visits the Enugu today would be absolutely astonished at the high proportion and quality of infrastructural and other development put in place by his administration within so short a period of time. This no doubt, informed Governor Chime’s re-election, by a landslide, in 2011, for a second term.

In fact, such a person, a silent revolutionary, is Governor Sullivan Chime, going by his massive, people-oriented projects and programmes, some of which have been accomplished, and many others on-going.. By this time, in Governor Chime’s second tenure, it has become obvious that doing great things quietly has become the hallmark of this administration and stems from the personal style of His Excellency, the Governor of Enugu State.

Those who knew him from the early days have attested to his quiet and unassuming manner and style of doing things. Mr. Chime brought this unique style into play, in governance and administration, when he became The Governor, and this has resulted in the total transformation or revolution if you like, that is

News On Top Britons urged to leave Benghazi over 'imminent threat'.

Foreign Office minister David Lidington MP:
Britons should leave the Libyan city of Benghazi immediately in response to a "specific, imminent threat" to Westerners, the Foreign Office says.
The British Embassy in Tripoli has been in contact with a "small number" of British nationals whose details it had.
Germany and the Netherlands have also urged their citizens to leave Benghazi.
But Libya's deputy interior minister Abdullah Massoud insisted the security problems in Benghazi did not warrant such a response.
He told the BBC the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Libya had not been informed about the change in travel advice for British nationals.
The minister added he would be contacting the Foreign Office for further clarification and insisted such actions added to instability in the region.

News on Top Goodluck Jonathan- Boko Haram, a Major Threat to Africa

President Goodluck Jonathan
President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday described the Islamic terror group, Boko Haram, as a threat not only to Nigeria, but also to the entire African continent and called for international efforts to curb its activities.
Jonathan, while fielding questions on a CNN programme, Amanpour, from the World Economic Forum, Davos said the sect was not fuelled by corruption or misrule as suggested by a section of the international community.
Earlier on Tuesday, the president, while addressing Nigerians resident in Switzerland, had explained that Nigeria’s involvement in the military campaign in Mali to rout Islamic militants from the Sahelian country was not for territorial gains.
In response to a question by the anchor of the programme, Christiane Amanpour, on the threat posed to the country by Boko Haram, Jonathan said: “Definitely, Boko Haram, if it is not contained, will be a threat, not only to Nigeria but to West Africa, Central Africa and of course to North Africa, because some elements of Boko Haram link up with some of Al-Qaeda (members) operating in Northern Mali and other North African countries.
“That is why the Nigerian government is totally committed to work with other nationals other friendly governments – to make sure that we contain the problems in Mali because as you rightly said, the issue of Libya tries to create more problems in the sub-region.”
On whether Nigeria is prepared for major terrorist attacks, the president stated that the Federal Government was working to avoid a repeat of the Algerian experience.
“Yes, of course, what happened in Algeria was quite unfortunate. That is why all the governments have been working day and night to prevent such excesses,” he added.
Jonathan debunked insinuations that Boko Haram was a resistance against corruption and misrule, saying the impression was created by some interests groups.

Britain's relations with Kenya are under strain over an incident in which a Kenyan civilian was shot and killed during a military training exercise.

The soldier has been unable to leave Kenya for more than seven months following the shooting.

BBC East Africa correspondent Gabriel Gatehouse says the sergeant is confined to a British base while the two governments wrangle over legal jurisdiction in the case.
He says the soldier has been named in the Kenyan parliament as Sergeant Madison.
Our correspondent says the question of what should happen to him has become a big issue in the "febrile" atmosphere as a general election looms in Kenya in March.
